(Webinar)[PRESS PLAY] Pressing the Reset Button When You’re Burnt Out

About This Event

This is a pre-recorded session. Once registering, you’ll receive an email with instructions on how to access the video and a 24hr reminder to view the recording. It’s no secret that the past two years have done a number on pretty much everyone. Whether you got made redundant, have been working from home, or are caring for dependents, chances are that you’re feeling more stressed than usual.

When the stress is prolonged over a period of time, it can lead to mental and physical exhaustion that is hard to recover from – this is called burnout. Chances are you’re burnt out if you’ve been feeling drained (or like you’ve hit a wall), lost motivation and energy, and are feeling detached from work that you otherwise enjoyed.

The good news: you’re not alone. Better news: there are things you can do to get yourself back on track. In this session, we will be taking a look at:

  • Causes and symptoms of burnout

  • Strategies for managing and recovering from burnout

  • Wellness techniques that can be implemented at home

  • Self-reflection exercises to better understand our needs

If you or someone you know has been feeling burnt out or stressed, we encourage you to carve out some time for your wellness and come along to this session!

This is a 1hr pre-recorded session, no preparation is required. You can watch in your own time.

Shayaan Malik Photo

Senior Career Coach, General Assembly

I am an energetic and high-achieving career coach with over 9 years of experience in the educational sector, including working for Sydney’s leading universities. I’ve worked with 1000s of career-changers across Australia, New Zealand, and the APAC region to help them find jobs they love, at companies including (but not limited to) Canva, EY, CBA, and Domain. At the same time, I collaborate with organisations of all shapes and sizes to connect them with the latest and greatest talent at General Assembly.

The unique approach I take to coaching is informed by the major schools of psychotherapy, principles of design thinking and agile methodology, and behavioural science research. This approach is tailored to suit each client and their respective goals. I believe that everyone has an interesting story to tell and my strengths lie in helping people design their careers through understanding how to craft and pitch their personal brand.
