If you’ve been paying attention to this series, then you already have plenty of evidence that Bart Herbison is not only incredibly smart, but is also one of the music industry’s most effective advocates. We welcome Bart back in the host seat and this time, he’s bringing a real Washington DC insider with him. And this guy has done so much for the music industry, yet you have probably never heard of him, let alone had a chance to thank him.
Jim Free has been a long-time political operative, initially in Tennessee state politics, but later on (and more importantly) at the federal level. He worked closely with President Jimmy Carter and they became the first powerful people to use music in making policy. And that’s just the proverbial tip of the iceberg. You’ll hear stories involving A-listers such as Jack Nicholson, Hillary Clinton and one about breaking the color barrier at MTV.
Bart Herbison is the head of the Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI). Songwriters and copyright holders in general have no better friend or stronger advocate than Bart. He is also the most incredible interviewer we ever have the pleasure of presenting on this platform.
The name of this platform is WHO KNEW and that’s the reaction that I promise you will have after witnessing this episode…who knew!!??
