The ability to make 3D models and replicas has gotten easier as our imaging and production software has advanced. Even rare ancient artifacts will soon be accessible to folks around the world, at home, due to the improvement of technology. The next evolution will be to capture and produce simulations of people which will become a timeless way in which we interact with heritage, history, different cultures, etc. How are museums using immersive technologies today to elevate their exhibits? How will this add wonder and entertainment, as audiences expect more from ways in which they consume experience?
There are a number of museums that offer virtual (reality) tours already. Holocaust survivors are being immortalized in exhibits, telling their stories that would otherwise be lost forever. Thanks to The Next Evolution of the external storage systems, from written word, to video capture, to immersive experiences – we can learn new things as if they are at our fingertips like never before.
Join us December 7th as we talk to those trailblazing the adoption of immersive technology in the curation and production of museum experiences: The Next Evolution of Museums | AWE Nite Chicago at 5:30pm CDT (6pm CDT in Virbela).
What’s The Format:
We begin with informal networking and then start the stage portion promptly at 6:15pm CDT. There will be a handful of presentations before we move on to answer audience questions and then finish with more networking. We keep it simple and informal – this program is about you, our members, and not the host or presenters. Come and get your questions answered, take your next step into immersive technology.
