In an era where kids and families have screens in every room and in their pockets too, providing children with engaging educational content has never been more important. Fortunately, our guest this week is here to provide insight on making quality content for a younger audience. From producing for Sesame Street and Nickelodeon, to helping launch into new development at Baby First TV Sprout, and Minno, and now running her own production boutique Pixel & Pebble, Livia Beasley has done it all. Regardless whether you’re an educator, writer, producer, or filmmaker, this talk will jumpstart your imagination and inspire you to write and produce engaging media for the little ones.
Screen Time is a bi-monthly(ish), hour-long online series that features guests from all across the screenwriting and filmmaking industry. If you have wi-fi, you can join us from anywhere in the world for presentations, discussions, and interviews with industry professionals. It’s free for annual members; pay-what-you-can donation for guests.
ABOUT LIVIA BEASLEY
Livia Beasley will do anything to make her toddler laugh. When she’s not making up silly stories from inside a blanket fort, Livia is developing, writing, and producing content for clients across the children’s media landscape. Livia has been overjoyed to spend the last 20 years as a content creator for many of the top networks and production companies including Nickelodeon, Sesame Workshop, Universal Kids, Minno Kids, 9 Story, Highlights, Harper Collins, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, and Common Sense Media.
Livia is also proud to be the founding mama of Children’s Media Association, the premier national industry organization for children’s media professionals. Now celebrating our 15th anniversary, CMA continues our dedication to improving the quality of children’s media content by connecting and educating the children’s media community.
Today, Livia Beasley is the chief pebble skipper of Pixel & Pebble , a creative boutique devoted to developing and producing pro-social content that inspires little kids to do big things. Livia is the happy wife of her filmmaking partner Corey (Snyder) Beasley of Spark Pixel, the joyful mother to their supremely sparkling toddler, and a Sunday School teacher to the wee ones. She can also sometimes be spotted noodling on lyrics and vocals as one half the songwriting duo Barefoot Walking.
