What are ideation sessions? They are collaborative problem-solving workshops rooted in design-thinking made up of four steps:
- Find a real problem
- Imagine a solved state
- Brainstorm possible solutions
- Assess solutions
The goals of ideation sessions are to help participants better find and evaluate business possibilities while fostering an entrepreneurial community!
For this ideation session, LIFT Labs is partnering with entrepreneurship fellowship program, Venture For America, to give our shared communities the opportunity to have some collaborative fun and dig into a topic relevant to our current reality: distributed workforce & remote work. We’ll be looking at the problems associated with the above, imagining what a solved state looks like, brainstorming possible solutions, and assessing those solutions. Venture For America is creating economic opportunity in American cities by mobilizing the next generation of entrepreneurs and equipping them with the skills and resources they need to create jobs.
VFA is a two-year fellowship program for recent college grads who want to work at a startup. Fellows learn important hard and soft skills at a month-long Training Camp, apply for jobs within their company network, and work as full-time, salaried employees in one of 14 cities. When Fellows are ready to start a company – be it two years after college or ten – VFA has the resources (like local Ideation Sessions like this one and a national Accelerator) and an Evergreen Fund to help make that dream a reality.
