Horror has become a year-round industry. Whether you’re a seasoned writer or just getting started, horror is a genre that can really get you noticed. It tends to be more budget-friendly and there’s a built-in audience. But everyone already knows this. As a result, many of the same ideas are being written and submitted worldwide. Our guest this week, former development executive at Maverick Films, Naomi Beaty, has read a lot of scripts — by her estimation, thousands of scripts. She joins us in our virtual event space to break down the areas in your script where you have a chance to elevate your work with a heightened understanding of the basic elements in the genre. If you’re working on a horror screenplay or just a horror enthusiast, this is one talk you won’t want to miss!
