(Webinar) Female Founders and Funders: The Art of Pitching

LIFT Labs continues its LIVE@LIFT Female Founders and Funders series with a deep dive into The Art of Pitching: Elevator Pitches & Pitch Decks. Allison Goldberg, Managing Partner of Comcast Ventures, and Meghan Ross, Head of Creator Success at Seed&Spark, will open the event with a fireside chat related to all things pitching investors.

Following the discussion, attendees will join Meghan for a workshop covering pitch deck do’s and don’ts, how to prepare for a pitch meeting, adapting a pitch to different audiences, and then the follow upー setting your work up for success. The event includes 45 minutes of workshop topics + 45 minutes of practice pitching and a Q&A. Attendees will walk away ready to land their next pitch meetings!

This LIVE@LIFT Female Founders and Funders event is part of Owning It, a Gotham Film & Media Institute program dedicated to supporting, connecting, and empowering women and non-binary creators and entrepreneurs who break down boundaries in the media and entertainment industry.


SPEAKER BIOS

MEGHAN ROSS
Head of Creator Success at from Seed&Spark

Meghan Ross is a writer/director, comedian, and activist based in Austin who was recently selected for the Sundance Episodic Lab. Her short films have made The New Yorker’s Best Shouts of 2020 list and she was nominated for The Webby Awards 2021 for her short, If You Ever Hurt My Daughter, I Swear to God I’ll Let Her Navigate Her Own Emotional Growth, which features narration by Jon Hamm. Meghan’s writing has appeared in Reductress, IFC, Slackjaw, VICE’s Broadly, TV Without Pity, The Toast, and some other defunct but beloved sites. She co-created and hosted the late night show That Time of the Month for 5 years and is currently the Head of Creator Success at Seed&Spark. Most importantly, Meghan is an aspiring stage mom to her rescue pit-lab, Dreidel.

 

ALLISON GOLDBERG
Managing Partner, Comcast Ventures

A respected senior executive, leader, and board member, Allison is a strong investor and strategist with a track record of creating strategic value and driving financial returns. Allison’s diverse career in finance, media and digital has proven her ability to add value to both large public companies as well as startups. Prior to joining Comcast Ventures as Managing Partner, she was a Partner at VC fund Saints Capital Media Ventures, a buyout of her strategic venture portfolio from Time Warner, and a Venture Partner at Touchdown Ventures. Prior to that, she was a Partner at Advancit Capital, focusing on early-stage investments in consumer and media technology companies. She previously served as Group Managing Director & Senior Vice President of Time Warner Investments, where she ran the group focused on investing up to $25MM in private companies to generate both strategic value and financial returns for Time Warner Inc. Allison received a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
